A state agency is reminding area fishermen in the Elizabeth City area that its office for issuing licenses and permits has moved since last summer.

The N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries recently issued a press release reminding fishermen its local office is at 100 Kitty Hawk Lane. Last year the office was at 105-A Impact Boulevard.

DMF’s current office is just off the intersection of Weeksville Road and Industrial Park Drive, near Hoffer Flow Controls.

The agency is issuing the reminder because commercial fishing licenses expire each June 30, making this a busy time of year for the office.

A DMF email also noted June 30 falls on a Sunday this year, so fishermen will need to renew their license by the end of that work week no Friday.

Recreational fishing and hunting licenses, plus boat registrations, are also sold at the office, according to the release.

Notably, the DMF office in Elizabeth City may move again in coming months, as it’s solicited leases for a longer-term location.
