See a pothole? Report it to NCDOT
From staff reports

Local motorists do not have to just put up with potholes. They can report them to the N.C. Department of Transportation or their city government.
Angela Welsh, coordinator for the Albemarle Rural Planning Organization, encouraged motorists to report potholes after seeing a recent Daily Advance Facebook post about them. DOT runs a “report a problem” page, found through the ncdot.gov website.
The link is only for reporting potholes to state-maintained roads, Welsh noted. Cities are responsible for minor routes within their boundaries.
Welsh also noted that sometimes DOT delays major fixes to roads because the utilities buried under them need to be replaced first. It would be a waste of time and money to resurface a road that has to be dug up in a few years.
