The College of The Albemarle Foundation’s community partnerships play a key role in helping provide money for scholarships, new technology, capital projects, program enhancements and faculty and staff professional development.
Vidant Chowan Hospital in Edenton increased its donation to $10,000, placing the hospital at the President’s Club donor level for the 2018-19 academic year.
“COA offers various health-related disciplines, which have been utilized by many of our team members,” said Brian Harvill, president of Vidant Bertie Hospital and Vidant Chowan Hospital. “Because of this utilization, we have been able to hire personnel to fill positions in multiple departments in both of our hospitals.
“We have employees working in the operating room, the laboratory, the birthing center and everywhere in between. The COA graduates have received excellent training and are doing outstanding jobs. We are proud to have many COA alumni at Bertie and Chowan, and we look forward to our continued partnership with COA, employing more graduates in the years ahead.”
Amy Alcocer, executive director of the COA Foundation, also recognized the value of COA’s partnership with the hospital.
“Vidant Chowan Hospital is a major employer of COA graduates and the Foundation is eager to continue this valuable partnership that helps us provide scholarships for students as they pursue their education,” she said.
