High School Roundup | Perquimans knocks off Edenton in volleyball

EDENTON — The Perquimans volleyball team defeated John A. Holmes 25-12, 25-7, 25-16 Tuesday evening at John A. Holmes High School.

The Lady Pirates (10-1, 5-0 Albemarle Athletic Conference) secured another league win in three sets.

Cayce Copley had 10 service points, four aces and nine kills for Perquimans.

Samantha Midgett followed with 10 service points, three aces and seven kills, Megan Denson posted 12 service points, two aces and six kills.

Ellie Howard had seven service points and two aces in the win.

Camden def. Gates 25-12, 25-5, 22-25, 25-9: The Lady Bruins (7-3, 3-1 AAC) secured the league win at home Tuesday evening.


John A. Holmes 9, Gates 0: The John A. Holmes girls tennis team defeated visiting Gates Tuesday in an Albemarle Athletic Conference match.

In singles, Edenton’s Jessica Copeland, Anna Bass, Sydney Morris, Molly Catherine White, Lilly Boyce and Lilly Bunch won their matches.

In doubles, Bass and Morris, Copeland and Boyce and White and Bunch were winners.
