Perquimans shut out Pasquotank 12-0 on the road on Wednesday in non-conference action.

Perquimans (5-1) scored eight runs in the first three innings on its way to 12 runs on nine hits for the game.

Pirates senior Michael Brasseur and junior Braden Jordan each tallied two hits. Brasseur and junior Tyler Futrell each had two runs batted in.

Senior Braden Craddock struck out six and gave up three hits in three innings of work, while Tanner Thach, Jacob Meads and Spencer Loftis combined for 10 strikeouts and one hit in the final four innings of the game.

The Panthers dropped to 1-3 with the loss.

Williamston-Riverside 8, John A. Holmes 4: The Aces lost for the first time in six games this season after falling on the road to the Knights.

Despite only having two hits, one by senior Chace Kelly and junior Peyton Brabble, John A. Holmes led 4-3 in the sixth inning before Williamston-Riverside scored five in the bottom half to take a four-run lead.

Sophomore Caleb Bunch went five innings on the mound for the Aces giving up two earned runs on four hits. He struck out three.

Albemarle School 22, Northeast Academy 6: The Colts defeated the Eagles in Tarheel Independent Conference play Wednesday afternoon.

Albemarle School (2-1, 2-0 TIC) scored 11 of its runs in the bottom of the first, four in the third and seven in the fourth to end the game after four innings.

Freshman Cole Langley went 4-for-4 with two doubles and a triple, knocking in three runs, as junior Tanner Simpson went 2-for-5 with four runs batted in.

Eighth-grader Trent Sawyer went 3-for-4 with three RBIs of his own, while giving up four earned runs in three innings of work on the mound.

Sophomore Logan Dunn and junior Luke Gray each added two hits.

Hertford County 13, Camden 1: The Bruins fell to 1-5 after losing to the Bears Wednesday.

Hertford County (1-4) scored eight runs in the first inning.

Camden hosts First Flight tonight at 5 p.m.


Perquimans 15, Pasquotank 0: The Lady Pirates (5-0) shut out the Lady Panthers (0-4) in five innings Wednesday.

Senior Megan Denson and Junior McKayle Knapp led Perquimans with three hits each out of the 15 the Lady Pirates had for the game.

Denson hit the lone home run of the game as junior Abby Todd joined her with 2 RBIs each in the game.

Denson, who pitched the first three innings, combined with sophomore Faith Christian and freshman Kaileigh Nixon for a no-hitter in the shortened game.

Camden 21, Hertford County 3: The Lady Bruins (6-0) remain undefeated after easily handling the Lady Bears (2-2).

Camden hosts First Flight tonight.

Williamston-Riverside 13, John A. Holmes 3: The Lady Aces fell to 2-2 after their road loss to the Lady Knights (4-0).

Freshman Hannah Pippins went 2-for-3, while junior Jhasi Gilliam had two RBIs and junior Maggie Bunch knocked in one run.

Northeast Academy 22, Albemarle School 13: The Lady Colts (1-2, 1-1 TIC) lost to the Lady Eagles (1-1, 1-1 TIC) in a high-scoring game.

Albemarle School held an 8-7 lead after three innings, but seven runs in the top of the fourth by Northeast Academy separated the Lady Eagles from the Lady Colts.


Pasquotank 4, Perquimans 1: The Lady Panthers (1-2-1) defeated the Lady Pirates (0-4) at home Wednesday.

Mia Jernigan and Sophie Clarkson each tallied a goal and an assist as Madeline Stephans and Faith Packan scored the other two goals for Pasquotank. Marissa Harris also had an assist.

Northeastern 1, Camden 1: The Lady Eagles (1-3-1, 0-2 Northeastern Coastal) and the Lady Bruins (1-3-2, 0-2 Albemarle Athletic) played to a draw in Camden Wednesday.

Currituck 9, Manteo 0: The Lady Knights (2-2, 2-0 NCC) dominated the Lady Redskins (2-1, 2-0 AAC) at home Wednesday.

Washington 5, John A. Holmes 0: The Lady Aces (2-1, 1-0 AAC) were shut out at home by the Pam Pack (4-2) Wednesday.
