CAMDEN — The Camden softball team defeated rival Perquimans 10-0 in six innings Friday night at the Camden County High School softball complex.

Hailey Bunting led the offense for the Lady Bruins (14-1, 6-0 Albemarle Athletic Conference) in the league game as she went 3-for-4 with two home runs, two runs scored and four RBI.

Carleigh Simmons followed by going 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, three runs scored and three RBI, Briana Bratton went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBI, Kamryn Nash posted two doubles with three runs scored, while Sydney Tatum and Skylar Hyatt each had a hit in the game.

Perquimans (14-3, 5-2 AAC) was limited offensively to a double by Megan Denson.

Bunting pitched six innings in the circle, and registered eight strikeouts for the win.

Currituck 12, Pasquotank 0: Currituck (11-2, 6-0 Northeastern Coastal Conference) earned the conference win at Pasquotank County High School Friday.

Destiny Moyers went 1-for-3 with a run scored and three RBI, Michelle Mixon went 2-for-3 with a run scored, Amree Powers and Shelbey Pippin each posted a hit with two runs scored and a RBI, Faith Hughes had a double with two runs scored, while Layla Cartwright had two hits in the win.

GIRLS SOCCER

Ocean Lakes (Va.) 5, Currituck 0: The Lady Knights (9-4-0) lost the non-conference match at home Friday.

Chocowinity-Southside 3, Perquimans 0: The Lady Pirates (0-11) lost the non-conference match to the Seahawks (4-7-1) Friday.

BASEBALL

Perquimans 12, Camden 1: The Pirates (10-5, 4-2 Albemarle Athletic Conference) defeated rival Camden (3-13, 0-6 AAC) in a league game at Camden Friday night in six innings.

Tristan Harsch had a hit with an RBI for Camden.

Bertie 3, Northeastern 2: The Eagles (3-11, 2-6 Northeastern Coastal Conference) lost the league game at home Friday night.

NHS held a 2-1 lead entering the seventh inning.

Bertie (6-10, 2-4 NCC) rallied with two runs in the top of the seventh inning to secure the win.

Bertie’s Trenton White and Alden Cottle each had two hits with a RBI in the win.

First Flight 10, Hertford County 3: First Flight (12-4, 8-0 NCC) earned the league win at home Friday night.

McCoy Davenport hit a home run with two runs scored and four RBI, Shane Nason also hit a home run with two runs scored and two RBI, Cole Eldridge had a hit with a run scored and two RBI, Aidan May had a hit with a run scored and a RBI and Grayson Bell went 4-for-4 with a run scored and a RBI in the win.

Nason pitched six innings, gave up six hits, an earned run, three walks and posted three strikeouts, while May pitch an inning gave up a hit, two earned runs, a walk and posted a strikeout to earn the save.
