SAVANNAH, Ga. — The Edenton Steamers were represented by multiple players at the 2019 Coastal Plain League All-Star Showdown Sunday and Monday at Grayson Stadium — the home of the Savannah Bananas.

Quincy Hamilton and Ian Walters were selected to the CPL North Division All-Star team, Alex Theis was selected to the All-Star Showdown to pitch in the championship game as a pool pitcher, while Alex Alders and Jack Eisenbarger were selected to the Fan Vote All-Star team.

Instead of the traditional two-team all-star game, the CPL implemented a six-team single elimination tournament over two days.

Each game was three innings.

In the CPL North Division’s quarterfinal game against the East Division All-Stars Sunday, Hamilton (left field) and Walters (second base) were starters for the North.

The North lost to the East 2-0.

Alders and Eisenbarger saw game action against the West Division All-Stars in a 1-0 win over the West All-Stars Sunday.

Eisenbarger got the start and pitched one inning and registered two strikeouts for the Fan Vote All-Star team.

Alders recorded an RBI in the Fan Vote All-Stars’ 4-0 win against the Hometown Savannah team in the semifinals Monday.

The East All-Stars defeated the South All-Stars 2-1 to advance to the championship.

In the finals against the East All-Stars, Alders was the designated hitter, while Theis pitched a scoreless second inning for the Fan Vote All-Stars in a 2-1 loss to the East All-Stars Monday night.

After an off day Tuesday, Edenton returns to play today at Morehead City.
