Three area high school football teams are set to complete Week 3 of their seasons this week.

Northeastern (2-0) travels to Greenville to face J.H. Rose (2-0) in one of the top matchups in the state today at 6 p.m., while John A. Holmes (1-0) hosts Pasquotank (0-1) in Edenton Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Edenton's matchup with the Panthers was scheduled to be played tonight, but was moved to Tuesday at 7 p.m. due to rain in Sunday and today's forecast in Edenton.

Both games were postponed last week and moved after Hurricane Dorian impacted the region late Thursday night and Friday.

The games were initially scheduled to be played Friday, Sept. 6, but were moved up to Wednesday, Sept. 4 in order to complete the contests before the storm's arrival.

Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools canceled after school activities starting on Sept. 4 through Friday, Sept. 6.

That prevented Pasquotank and Northeastern from playing their respective games.

Bertie County, Camden County, Currituck County and Edenton-Chowan schools announced Sunday that classes would be held for students today.

Dare County Schools announced Saturday that the district will be closed today.

The district oversees Cape Hatteras, First Flight and Manteo high school.
