Admiral Hopkins meets local apothecary John Mitchener on the Courthouse Green in Edenton. This dynamic duo was among those gathered to welcome President James Monroe on the 200th anniversary of his trip to Edenton in 1819!

The Presidential Ball was held Saturday night at the 1767 Chowan County Courthouse green. The event, which celebrated the 200th anniversary of President James Monroe's visit to Edenton, featured Colonial era food and dance. Dennis Bigelow, an re-enactor, portrayed Monroe.
